The Core of Plastic Pipeline System - Revealing Three Key Connection Technologies

The reliability of pipeline systems largely depends on the correct selection and application of connection technologies. There are three main connection methods for plastic pipes:
Hot melt connection: mainly used for thermoplastic pipes such as PE and PP. By using a specialized heating tool to heat and melt the interface of the pipe fittings, then quickly connect and apply pressure. After cooling, the connection becomes integrated, with strength even higher than the pipe itself, achieving permanent sealing. This is the preferred method for pressurized systems such as gas and water supply, but it requires high technical skills from operators.

Solvent bonding: commonly used in PVC and CPVC pipes. Apply specialized adhesive (solvent based) on the surface of pipes and fittings' sockets, which can slightly dissolve the plastic surface with its chemical substance. After insertion, it can be extruded to form interwoven molecular chains, which solidify into a whole. This method is simple and fast, but it requires ensuring that the interface is clean and dry, and leaving enough curing time.

Mechanical connections: including threaded connections, flange connections, or compression connections. It relies on mechanical fastening force (such as screws, clamps) and elastic sealing rings to achieve sealing. The biggest advantage is that it is detachable and easy to maintain, commonly used in areas that require frequent maintenance or interface with equipment, but there is a possibility of aging seals and limited pressure resistance.

The choice of connection method should take into account factors such as system pressure, medium characteristics, installation environment, and whether disassembly is required.
